Bob Hoff
In the early 1980s, while working at KXLY in Spokane, Bob began to focus his career in radio broadcast on agriculture industry reporting. He has been a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasters since that time, and has been with the Northwest Ag Information Network for 14 years. Bob has been recognized by the Idaho Grain Producers on two separate occasions for his excellence in news reporting. First in 1996 and again in 1999 he received their coveted Electronic Media Award. In an effort to build industry leaders Bob donates his time each year to the WA Ag and Forestry Leadership Program. Bob assists in training Ag and Forestry leaders in the art of handling difficult questions presented by an often bias media. Bob is a native of and current resident of Spokane. He moved to North Dakota with his family at the age of four where they farmed land his grandfather had homesteaded in the early 1900s. Bob and his sister still own this family farm. In the early 60s Bob's family moved back to Washington where Bob grew up doing the usual small town stuff like moving irrigation pipe, herding cattle, driving harvest trucks, working at the Ritzville Warehouse grain elevator etc.. Bob graduated cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University with a B.A. in political science. After taking post-graduate law classes at University of Puget Sound School of Law, he decided to follow his real passion and enrolled in radio school in Tacoma. His career in radio news broadcasting took him to Olympia and Aberdeen, then home to Spokane. Bob and his wife Kathy have been married for 30 years. They have three children and two Grandchildren.
Greg Martin
Being behind a microphone is as natural for Greg as breathing. Greg has spent the better part of 30 years in broadcasting beginning in the Midwest where he spent his summers growing up unloading wheat trucks or driving a tractor. His years in radio and his love of writing are a perfect combination to help bring the world of agri-business to you.
In addition to working for radio stations in Salina, KS; Bloomington, IL, Wichita, KS, Sonora, CA and most recently at KONA AM/FM in the Tri-Cities, Greg ran his own successful advertising agency, produced a nationally syndicated TV program and written a stage play. Greg also enjoys working in the yard, playing the piano and reading a good mystery.
Greg and his wife Gail have one son and two wonderful grandkids and they have been calling the Tri-Cities home for the past 18 years and each other husband and wife for 32 years.
David Sparks, PhD
David Sparks, Ph.D. has 25 years of television experience. He hosted several shows for the Outdoor Life Network, and produced and hosted outdoor adventure, hunting and fishing, and various sports shows for ESPN. He also hosted and produced PM Magazine, News programs, guest-hosted the Oprah Winfrey show, and early in his career, hosted an NBC game show.
Outside of the studio, David is an avid tennis player and also participates in a competitive senior hockey league. He earned his doctorate in biomedical engineering at Northwestern University and began his professional career as a professor at the University of Washington.
Susan Allen
Lacy Gray
Lacy grew up in a small Kansas town where the biggest events were the yearly county fair and the wheat harvest. A small town girl at heart, Lacy still loves a good ol' county fair, the sound of crickets on a summer night and back door neighbors. She married her high school sweetheart and they are still "going steady" after 30 years. Lacy and husband Jamie have one son who also married his high school sweetheart and have just recently enlarged their family circle with the birth of their first grandson. Lacy's other activities besides Food Forethought include an avid love of the outdoors which includes gardening, hiking and throwing the occasional tennis ball for her two "four legged" children and baking cookies.
